The Holy Spirit is a God!

He is a real person separate and distinct from both the Father and the Son.

He is an individual member of the Godhead or Deity, and He has a separate body, soul, and spirit from both the Father and the Son.

He is known as the 3rd person of the Divine Trinity, He is called Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit about 97 times in both testaments.

There are over 20 Divine names and titles ascribed to Him.

Now read the following very slowly and see for yourself!

1Co 12:1  Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

1Co 12:2  Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

1Co 12:3  Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

1Co 12:4  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

1Co 12:5  And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

1Co 12:6  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

1Co 12:7  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

1Co 12:8  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

1Co 12:9  To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

1Co 12:10  To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

1Co 12:11  But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

1Co 12:12  For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

1Co 12:13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

V3 He is called the Spirit of God

V3 He is called Holy Ghost

V4 Same Spirit as the 2 named in verse 3

V5 He is called Lord

V6 He is called God

This is what Peter revealed to Ananias in the verses below

He told him he did not lie to man, but to the Holy Ghost, unto God.

So Peter knew the difference between the 3 members of the Godhead!

Act 5:3  But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Act 5:4  Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

The Holy Spirit is the Author of the new birth and the Direct Executive of God in all phases of creation and redemption.

As a real person the Holy Spirit does not live in born again Christians bodies, he is not a demon to bodily enter into people, the only way the Holy Spirit enters into man is in the form of “In union with”

In Genesis we read in the Hebrew text that Elohim created the heaven and the earth.

The word for God in Genesis 1:1 is Elohim which is plural for Gods

He is first mentioned by name in verse 2 of Genesis!

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

He is called the Comforter and Helper and Guide of all Saints, He is the Convicter of sin, the Power of God on earth, the Great Teacher of men, the Preserver of all things, the Chief Witness of God on earth, the Healer of Saints, the Inspirer of the Holy Scriptures, the Bestower of Spiritual gifts and the Character builder.

Personal names are given to Him.

Personal pronouns are used of Him

Personal attributes are ascribed to Him.

Personal works are ascribed to Him.

Personal references are made concerning Him.

Personal treatment is ascribed to Him.

Joh 15:26  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

In John the Holy Spirit is spoken of as “ANOTHER” Comforter, who could not be sent until Christ had gone back to Heaven and was glorified, but would then be sent as a separate person from the Father and the Son.

The Spirit is “ANOTHER” from the Son who promised Him, and “ANOTHER” from the Father who sent Him.

Watch what you say about Him!

Blasphemy against the Son of God can be forgiven, yet Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost will not be forgiven.

Mat 12:31  Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Mat 12:32  And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in theworld to come.

If you love to read the Bible know that He is the Ghost Writer of the Scriptures. He inspired many men over the centuries to pen down what we call today the Word of God.

So I leave you with this.

Eph_6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
