Jesus was crucified on Wednesday!
Joh 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. early, when it was yet dark, Before it became light on Sunday morning, which day began at sunset Saturday and ended with sunset Sunday.
Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
So we know that the first day mentioned is Sunday which starts Saturday night to Sunday night. Jesus our Lamb was killed on the 14th Exo 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
Jesus died at 3:00 PM Wednesday (day) on the 14 th of Nisan that is on our Gregorian calendar the 3 rd of April 30 A.D.
He Remained DEAD for 3 full days and 3 full nights 72 hours!
Wednesday (night)

1 st day
Thursday (night)
Friday (day)
2 nd day
Friday (night)

3 rd day
Jesus Arose soon after sunset Saturday night which then became (Early) Sunday the first day!
Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Jesus Ascended to Heaven and came back the same day! Now that’s FAST, faster than the speed of light! Jesus told her this Saturday night (Early Sunday) Verse 1
Joh 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Now this was still Sunday before the sun set completely. So you see Mary saw him Saturday night, and now it was Sunday evening when Jesus came back.
Joh 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
The next Sunday! Notice that the Early Christians gathered on Sundays, and not on the Sabbath like the Jews! Pentecost fell on Sunday that year also, and they were baptized in the Holy Spirit also on a Sunday!
Lev 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover. Lev 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. Lev 23:7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Lev 23:8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
So 14 th of Nissan is the Lord’s Passover not a high Sabbath But on the 15 th of Nissan is the feast of unleavened bread, the first day and the seventh day are high Sabbaths.
Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Deu 21:22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: Deu 21:23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
Reason for breaking legs… The high Sabbath was going to start in 4 hours.
Mat 27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Mat 27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Mat 27:64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Mat 27:65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. Mat 27:66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch. This was Wednesday sunset to Thursday sunset this was the high Sabbath not the regular sabbath. Luk 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
This is anytime after sunset Saturday that then is our Sunday! Remember Jesus was the lamb that was slain, and that was on the 14 th of Nisan outside the city walls.
